Throw a Low-Prep Classroom Winter Party

The classroom Winter Party right before the long holiday break is super fun but it can be so daunting. I want students to have fun but I also don’t want them getting wild, or bored. I came up with 7 low-prep stations for your students to rotate through at your class Winter party, and the best thing is- there’s little to no-prep! Each station comes with a sign and a page of step-by-step directions.

Use a few or use them all, and read about each one below and grab the kit HERE!

Magical Mitten Measuring

This station reviews an important math concept: measurement! Students measure how long each mitten is on each mitten card, and records it on their Magical Mitten Measuring recording sheet.

I let students use mini-marshmallows as their unit of measurement, but this station also includes a strip of paper marshmallows to print and cut for students to use to measure as well. Super fun and easy!

Fabulous Frosty Hats

In this station, students will create a little hat to wear at the party! Just print the hat pieces, let students decorate them, and glue them on to a sentence strip to fit around their head. Super cute and makes a great photo op!

Incredible Igloo Inventing

In this easy STEM challenge, students will use toothpicks and mini-marshmallows to create an igloo for polar bear. Students can work independently or with other students. I love a good STEM challenge!

Blizzard Bingo

A classic! Print your bingo boards and cards, and use mini-marshmallows as the bingo card markers. This is always a student favorite!

Snowy Sculptures

This station is a great fine motor activity! Print the Playdoh cards, and allow students to use Playdoh to make each winter animal shape. They love this one too!

Beary Cute Craft

Of course I had to add in a craftivity! Craftivities help with fine motor and following directions. This beary cute craft comes with all the pieces that students need to cut and glue together this cute polar bear.

Decorating is SNOW Much Fun

This is the station that I usually ask families to help with by sending in donations. Each student gets to enjoy a decorated sugar cookie at the class party as a sweet little treat.

I ask families to donate: plain sugar cookies, icing, sprinkles, mini marshmallows, paper plates, and napkins. It’s always a good idea to have baby wipes on hand at this station also because there will be messy fingers afterwards. So worth it though!

Depending on how long your party is, you might decide to use all of the stations or just a few of the stations so that students have a longer time to complete each one. Before the party I explain each station, assign students to a starting station, and then I set the timer and let them go. We rotate to each station in a clock-wise formation until each group has visited each station. This helps to cut down on the chaos, but students still have a fabulous time! I hope you might be able to use these fun centers at your class Winter party!

Grab them HERE if you need them!
